We bought a house!

Most of you know, but I still wanted to blog about it.  On August 26th, this beautiful home in Merriman Park, a neighborhood in Lake Highlands, became ours.  We are so excited to have a place to call "home."  We moved in Labor Day weekend with the gracious help of Nate's Mom, Rilla, and step-dad, Bill, and my Dad, Rick, and step-mom, Pam.  We absolutely could not have done it without them!!  Thanks to their help that weekend, we were able to complete the kitchen and furniture placement, replace door hardware, hang lights, paint, and unpack all the boxes.  Rilla stayed with us for the next week, basically decorating, doing laundry, cooking dinner, painting, and so many other things.  What an amazing Mother-in-law I have!! I was no help (see below). Thank you for all your hard work!

Not only have we bought a house and moved, but I started work as a Kindergarten Teacher!!  Of course, the second week of school was the week we moved and my Kinder friends shared their wonderful germs with me.  I was not much help during the move or a couple of weeks after.  :(  But, thank goodness for antibiotics!  I am finally feeling back to normal (probably only to get sick again, ha!) and am working on decorating, cleaning, and school projects.

Needless to say, all this change is requiring quite a bit of adjusting for both of us. I have been working loooooonnnngggg hours and with the new house there are so many projects, so we are learning how to balance our new life.  Our first few months as newlyweds, I had the luxury of staying home.  We had all the time in the world to spend with one another. But that's not the case now, chores, work, and errands all take place in the evening and on the weekends.  (Hence, no blog in over a month! Eeeek!) Boooo!

Anyway, we are starting to get the hang of all this.  :D  We gave Bella her first bath in the backyard this weekend.  Nate was taking pictures.  I was TRYING to bathe and restrain the dog.  It was quite entertaining....

Trying to restrain her, while she tries to run through my legs.
Being good for the moment!
Getting away!
Escaped!
Acting innocent.
She is so heavy.  Nate is laughing.
Finally getting rinsed!
